  • Summary

    Rebecca Sem returned to her hometown of Stockton to join Kroloff, Belcher, Smart, Perry & Christopherson as an Associate in September 2013. Mrs. Sem’s legal practice is focused on trust and estate litigation. In addition, she handles probate and trust administration, business litigation, and medical malpractice matters.

    Mrs. Sem obtained her Bachelor of Arts degree in Government, cum laude, from California State University, Sacramento in 2005.  She then obtained her Master’s Degree in Education from the University of Missouri, Columbia in 2010.  She earned her Juris Doctorate, with distinction, at the University of the Pacific, McGeorge School of Law in 2013 and was inducted into the Traynor Honor Society.

    Representative Matters

    • Represents fiduciaries and beneficiaries in a variety of trust and estate conflicts, including will and trust contests, accounting disputes, and breach of fiduciary duty allegations.

    • Assists executors and administrators in navigating the probate process.

    • Represents trustees, including corporate trustees, in trust administration matters.

    • Represents conservators and conservatees in conservatorship matters.

    • Represents individuals and corporations in business disputes and litigation, including contract disputes.

    • Represents hospitals, insurers, and physicians in medical malpractice litigation, including preparing dispositive motions, attending settlement conferences, and defending depositions.

  • Personal/Professional Activities

    • In Law School, Rebecca served as Legislative and Managing Editor of the McGeorge Law Review.

    • Mrs. Sem teaches Trusts and Wills at Humphreys University, Drivon School of Law. She’s taught classes there since 2018 and continues to this day.

    • Graduate of Leadership Stockton’s Class of 2016.

    • Serves on the board of the Leadership Stockton Alumni Association.

    • Served on the Board of Governors for the San Joaquin County Bar Association from 2016-2019.

    • Former board member for the Library and Literacy Foundation for San Joaquin.

    • Member of San Joaquin County Bar Association.

    • Member of San Joaquin Estate Planning Council.

    • Member of Consuelo M. Callahan Inn of Court.

    • Prior to law school, Mrs. Sem worked as an English teacher in both Stockton and Yamanashi, Japan.  In her free time, she enjoys traveling and running.
